You can now view your proof of membership in the DDU app.

We've made it even easier for members to prove their membership status to an employer.

Using the DDU app, you can now view your proof of membership, including work details and indemnity, and share it by email or text with an employer or others. We've also added your membership card to the app, so you can access all your membership details on demand.

Many members are already finding the new functionality helpful, with one commenting it was, "Excellent and easy to access. Very useful having proof of indemnity to hand." The member added, "My previous indemnity provider's [procedure] was complex and time consuming."

John Makin, head of the DDU, said:

"Dental professionals often need to prove their indemnity status to employers, the regulator and others and we want to make this an easy process. Many members have also asked us to help reduce the amount of paperwork we send to them for environmental reasons.

"The improvements we've made to the DDU app will mean members can get the information they need at their fingertips, without the need for a paper copy or card."

This is the latest in a number of initiatives we've introduced to make it easier for you to manage your membership online, including:

  • access to a digital membership card on the DDU app, allowing members to keep track of when their membership is due for renewal
  • apply for and renew membership online
  • electronic renewal documents, which has so far led to a saving of over 350km of paper.

Thousands of members have downloaded the app to manage their membership and stay up to date with the latest dento-legal news, including the latest on the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you've not downloaded the DDU app yet, just visit the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
